Hello, everyone! My name is Michael O’Rourke and I make hand made, custom violins and mandolins.
From an early age, I always wanted to make my own instruments. Being a professional musician, I understood what sounded right and how to fix the problem when it didn’t.
This led me to creating my very own violin, with its own unique and distinctive tone. With the success of the violin, I stretched my creativity and crafted a mandolin. Since then, I have made several fiddles and mandolins, which I have taken with me and played at many trad concerts.
My instruments are unique as I use many different types of timber, giving them a warm, rich tone. I am also capable of repairing fiddles and mandolins to full restoration, no matter how bad the damage is.
As well as making hand made custom violins and mandolins, I also repair and re-hair violin bows. I provide a very professional service, so your violin or mandolin will always be in excellent care.
